0.8. Usual working hours are Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00, with the scope for flexible working. You may be required on occasion to work outside of your agreed work pattern, for which TOIL is granted.

Overview of the post
NSEAD is looking to recruit an energetic, sociable and engaging individual to develop our digital resources and platforms (including our website), communication with members and social media presence. Working in a small, close, creative and busy team, you will be a first-rate writer with great attention to detail and a true team player. Member engagement is at the heart of this role.
Purpose of the post
- To increase and diversify our membership through effective communications that showcase and celebrate our work
- To manage and build content for our website, newsletter and social media accounts, ensuring full legal compliance
- To ensure our day-to-day digital communications are engaging, high-quality and driven by best practice
- To support member engagement, programmes and partnership
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Generate copy and develop creative and engaging content for the Society’s website and social media channels in line with our social media, communications, marketing and organisational strategies.
- Take responsibility for the Society’s social media activities, posting regularly on all platforms in line with our social media strategy, to increase engagement and reach
- Work with our team to create online marketing campaigns, including social media advertising and email marketing, which support membership recruitment, income generation appeals, policy and advocacy campaigns, regional events and engagement activities
- Oversee, plan and deliver content across different platforms using scheduling tools and ensuring key messages are clear and consistent across all channels
- work with NSEAD staff and volunteers to build membership of membership forums, hubs and networks
- Find and create content that will generate membership interest and participation in NSEAD’s strategic priorities
- In collaboration with the Programmes and Partnerships Manager, write and deliver a fortnightly newsletter and other mass-emails as required
- Support the development of our main and subsidiary websites, uploading and organising content
- Provide analysis and reports on website and social-media performance
- Work closely with staff and member-led groups to help build, maintain and plan the ongoing development of our website

- Ability to work flexibly within the context of the role; some weekends and evening work may be required, for which time off in lieu will be given where appropriate
- Support planning and delivery of major events from the NSEAD programme, and attending partner events and meetings as required

Training and qualifications
Essential
- An undergraduate degreeor equivalent experience
Knowledge and experience
Essential
- Experience of working or volunteering in communications, public relations, marketing or any related field
- Experience of managing social media accounts
- Good knowledge of digital best practice around SEO principles and accessible content production
- Experience producing, commissioning, curating, editing and publishing content for websites, social media, e-newsletters, press releases and print
- Knowledge of data protection policies
- Experience using a content management system (CMS) to create, edit and publish web pages
- An understanding of cultural nuances and how to market to, and communicate with, diverse audiences
Desirable
- Experience of working in arts, education, third sector or membership organisation
- Experience of designing and delivering email campaigns
- An interest or knowledge in current policy changes in education
- Use of customer relationship management (CRM) systems to access, store and share information
- Knowledge of digital marketing strategies
- Experience of working with social media and other digital platforms to build audiences
