Job description

As the communications and marketing assistant, you will
  • Source and produce internal news items for the Mott MacDonald intranet.
  • Support the preparation and distribution of the monthly regional internal staff e-newsletter.
  • Develop and maintain the region’s internal content hub.
  • Share news and updates with colleagues through appropriate internal channels.
  • Support the collection of news items and project developments that should feed into external articles, used in a variety of contexts and media, both online and in print.
  • Work closely with the team to ensure regional representation across the business and to share best practice.
  • Support delivery of internal events.
  • Keeping team documents and schedules up to date, including planning calendars and process documents.
  • Support wider communications activities across the team.
  • Monitor the team's mailbox, responding to or assigning requests as appropriate.

General responsibilities
  • Contribute to the general work of the team and of the company as a whole.
  • Respond to ongoing communications queries, escalating to the relevant team member when necessary.
  • Establish good and considerate working relationships with all staff in the organisation in a way which demonstrates respect for their particular role and responsibilities.
  • Any other tasks and responsibilities as agreed by your line manager.

Candidate Specification

Ideal candidate specification
  • Qualification in a business-related or marketing subject, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a similar communications or administrative role.
  • Experience working with SharePoint and Yammer would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrably good communications skills, particularly written English.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to work quickly with full attention to detail.
  • Ability to plan and organise work according to deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders within a cross-cultural environment.
  • Highly inquisitive and always keen to learn about new topics and sectors.
  • Proactive approach to work and ability to use own initiative.
  • Motivated to actively engage in own personal development.
Desired competencies/skills
  • Experience producing content for social media.
  • MS Teams experience.
  • Experience organising events and high-level meetings – physical and virtual.

Job Profile

A fantastic opportunity for a highly organised, multitasker to provide effective communications support to our fast-paced regional marketing communications team

As part of the regional marketing and communications team you will play a key role in increasing awareness of the team’s and the region’s work with colleagues across the whole of the Mott MacDonald business. You will join a small but highly productive marketing team that works across our international development portfolio as well as the Middle East, South Asia and Africa region and ensure excellent internal communication outputs that accurately represent the breadth and variety of our work.
International travel may be required.
