The placement

This placement offers you the opportunity to understand the process of researching and clearly communicating agricultural market intelligence. With support from more experienced analysts, you will be vastly trained in developing your skills and knowledge around research methods, data analysis, agricultural market fundamentals, and macroeconomics. What you will be doing

  • Interpreting market research data, formulating insight, and making recommendations based upon research findings
  • Providing commodity insight/data for Mintec’s online platform and observing, participating in new product development projects
  • Building and maintaining contacts in the industry and collating information from key industry participants
  • Performing primary and secondary market analysis
  • Delivering continuous improvement in market knowledge
  • Continually challenging, refining, and improving operational processes to achieve improvement in productivity and quality of service

About you

You will have:

  • An interest in commodities and what may impact prices
  • Be studying towards a relevant degree (i.e. economics, finance)
  • High numeracy skills
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to communicate complex issues in a clear, concise, and coherent manner
  • Strong organisational and administration skills with ability to deliver work to set deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills, both within Mintec and in client-facing situations
  • Be a self-starter and quantitative analysis of data
  • Writing skills of a high standard
  • Experience of working with data and Microsoft Office, in particular Excel, be driven to achieve the best results

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary contract, Internship
Contract length: 6 months
