About the Role
We currently have an exciting vacancy in our older people’s commissioning team. The role involves sourcing & brokering care at home services to help Trafford residents live well in the community for as long as possible. The role is fast paced and involves working with acute hospital teams to support timely hospital discharges and patient flow as well as community placements.
The successful candidate will hold a portfolio of providers and support them with quality assurance and continuous improvement to remain compliant with their contract with the council and statuary obligations with the CQC.
About you
You will be a kind, caring, empathetic individual with a passion for ensuring that people receive high quality social care. You will be organized, efficient, with excellent communication skills and the ability to develop positive, professional relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders. You will have good attention to detail with the ability to manage your time well with competing priorities. An understanding of commissioning is desirable along with experience of working in an adult social care setting with an understanding of quality assurance processes.
About us
As a Commissioning Support Officer, you will work within a small team, supporting the Commissioning Officer with all aspects relating to the brokerage and quality assurance of homecare. This includes but is not exhaustive:
- Completing quality assurance audits with providers and making recommendations regarding quality improvement
. Taking part in a Rota to be the duty commissioner on the brokerage duty functions/ Hospital & Community, sourcing timely care for Trafford residents
. Speaking to customers when carrying out spot checks to assess the quality of service delivery of providers and to resolve any concerns or issues raised
- Supporting with billing and invoicing issues, complaints and safeguarding issues
- Checking referral forms to ensure accuracy and liaising with health and social care colleagues where discrepancies are identified
- Ensuring providers have up to date information regarding any legislative changes or requirements for provider
- Monitoring and supporting providers with regard to sustainability, infection control and staffing issues

Additional Information
The core working hours are usually between 8.30am and 4.30am, from Monday to Friday, but there is sometimes a requirement to work evenings or weekends and there may be a requirement to work between Christmas and New Year
An enhanced DBS check with adults barred list check will be required
You will have flexibility in terms of hybrid working at home and in the office
Driving is preferred but not essential.
