The Trading Hub is a newly established team supporting the Trading (buying & merchandising) and Finance functions in the TJX Europe business comprising of TKMaxx and Homesense brands in both physical stores and ecommerce retail. This role offers a great opportunity to be part of this team from its inception.


The Trading Hub Data & Analytics Developer reports into the Data & Analytics Manager and is responsible for developing in-depth insights through reporting for a range of business stakeholders at all levels across the trading and finance functions, utilising Power BI.


This role requires a solid understanding of data analytics, data modelling, reporting and visualisation. The successful candidate will be able to work with stakeholders to develop analytical briefs, gather large volumes of data from multiple systems both themselves and in partnership with the Enterprise Data / CoE teams and model this data into a suitable structure to enable performant, scalable and automated reporting in a timely fashion to support the key stakeholders in making informed decisions, providing key insights and measuring against business objectives and KPIs.


The role holder is expected to be passionate about data analytics and visualisation, keeping abreast of new tools and developments in the field and is able to contribute to knowledge sharing and upskilling within the business.


Job Summary

  • Support the Trading (buying & merchandising) and Finance functions in their decision making through development of automated and self-service reporting, primarily using Power BI
  • Work cross-functionally in capturing requirements from the relevant teams, translating these from a data modelling perspective, liaising with relevant data teams where required and end-to-end creation of the best reporting solutions
  • Consulting with key stakeholders to understand report usage, understand the key insights being driven and identify ways for incremental improvement
  • Continuous development of own knowledge in analytics and visualisation tools and contribute to knowledge sharing to the wider teams within the business objectives


Key Responsibilities

  • Creation and ongoing development of reporting to support the trading and finance teams across the TJX Europe business
  • Collaborate effectively with key stakeholders to understand and capture requirements and ensure on-time delivery that meets business needs
  • Support the Trading Hub data & analytics manager and other team members in the wider team objectives to further TJX Europe’s capabilities in best-in-class analytics and visualisation
  • Act as a business champion for Power BI, monitoring report usage, troubleshooting and proactively identifying opportunities to further automate and develop business reporting and insight within trading & finance


Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • At least 2 years experience in data analytics & reporting
  • Experience of working in a large retail or consumer facing business with physical stores and ecommerce operations
  • Strong visualisation tool experience, particularly Microsoft Power BI & DAX
  • Knowledge of other Microsoft Power Platform products, SQL, Access and Python or similar languages beneficial
  • Good communication skills with the ability to translate complex topics and in a simple and meaningful way
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Strong team player with inquisitive personality
