Job description
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Commercial Contract Manager with particular experience in construction contracts. The role will mainly be focussed on the delivery of main United Kingdom Energy project.
Your Roles & Responsibilities
As the Commercial Contract Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Administrate and Manage the project NEC 3 Contract with the Client and the Subcontractors
- Manage the project correspondence:
- Generate correspondences
- Respond to the client & subcontractors correspendences
- Assist procurement department in setting out NEC Service subcontracts/terms and condition
- Generate and compile compensation events
- Generate/ respond to Early Warning
- Gather the necessary elements to generate quotation/ compensation events upon instruction from client
- Interface with the project team to gather required level of substantiation for Contract administration
- Interface with client to address contractual matters and discuss compensation events/instructions.
- Carefully managing key internal and external stakeholders and ensuring they are suitably informed in a timely manner
- Providing advice and assistance with the assessment and resolution of contractual claims and variations as they arise whilst maintaining a productive and co-operative approach to dispute avoidance.
- Providing advice and assistance with the assessment of final accounts and any residual liabilities to include defect closure.
- Taking a lead in the timely resolution of contractual disputes as they arise and managing adjudications / arbitrations if necessary.
Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- NEC Contract option C and A and E
- Well familiaried with the process of instruction, compensation events, assessment...
- Ability to juggle conflicting priorities and manage critical business issues.
- Knowledge of process or power plant design and construction and Experience of leading Contract Management on Process and Power Plants
- Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline (Quantity Surveying, Law or Construction Management)
- Excellent leadership skills – having a clear vision, direction and sense of purpose.
