Perth/Glasgow
£55,000 - £70,000 DOE
The Recruitment Bunker are recruiting exclusively for a Commercial Manager for a leading group of companies at their headquarters in Perth.

The multi-disciplined group has grown organically over the past 50 years and specialises in market sectors including automotive manufacturing, construction, technical consultancy, composite manufacturing, property investment, land development, mechanical services, heating, plumbing and electrical services, renewable technologies, software development and internet of things. Our client is currently in the process of moving to their new state of-the-art office building in Perth, accredited with the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) Gold standard.
Responsibilities
- Proactively manage a team of project surveyors to ensure contracts are negotiated and agreed in accordance with agreed risk parameters
- Strategically expanding, preserving, or improving company procedures, standards or policies
- Adhering to regulatory guidelines.
- Ensure that through all stages of the projects, the site and management teams are communicated with and remain informed of all commercial aspects of the project
- Accurate, effective management of the monthly cycle of valuations, invoicing, variations, payments and notices with customers and sub-contractors
- Clearly identify any emerging contractual, financial and cashflow risks on each project through effective commercial dashboard information, and close collaboration with the team & other relevant heads of department
- Ensure delivery of accurate financial & project management information to be presented in a timely manner
- Ensure your team prepare and agree the final account to maximise the projects financial position
- Develop and maintain accurate and up to date cost libraries
- Ensure the team adhere to internal business process including CMS, PDS and H&S
- In conjunction with the construction department manage the appointment of subcontractors deliver commercial, contractual, financial and build programme, with emphasis on maximising revenue and profit generation in excess of tender targets
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal project teams and colleagues to maximise success of project delivery within your area of responsibility
Essential Skills
- Proven ability of commercially managing £50k to £10m construction projects
- Quantity Surveying qualification/ (MRICS/Degree/HNC) or ability to demonstrate the required knowledge
- Advanced level of Microsoft office skills particularly Excel
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of standard, main and subcontractor conditions of contract SBCC
- Demonstrate knowledge of public procurement and tender processes
- Evidence of strong influencing and negotiation skills across all stakeholders, including excellent communication skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple projects
- Strong coaching and mentoring Skills
- Advanced problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to process the Big-Picture Items.
