Commercial Manager
Location: Remote based working with occasional travel to Somerset / Lancashire sites
Summary
A leading provider of fire safety and security solutions for businesses and organisations nationwide have been appointed as the main security systems provider for the operational station at Hinkley Point C
They are looking to take on a remote based Commercial Manager to ensure that all commercial aspects of the project are professionally managed and controlled, and that commercial strategy is developed and delivered in accordance with the requirements of the business.
The role will be a Remote / Homebased opportunity however some infrequent travel to the project site or head office in Blackburn will be required
Responsibilities will include:
- Providing assistance, support, and guidance on all commercial issues within the project team
- Regularly reviewing all commercial plans to deliver maximum project margin.
- Providing contractual advice during the project delivery.
- Identifying improvements to commercial procedures.
- Managing the monthly commercial reporting process
- Ensuring the subcontract process is administered correctly
- Assisting with commercial support on other similar project tenders & bids.
- Completing & attending monthly review of contract results and performance.
- Conducting cashflow and Work in Progress reporting.
- Managing CVRs monthly to satisfy the requirements of the Business Unit/Company and providing any other reports which may be required.
- Ensuring compliance with corporate governance.
- Managing and reviewing cost to complete forecasts & contract cost reports.
- Ensuring all valuations are submitted on time.
- Ensuring full compliance with Company commercial procedures and corporate governance requirements
Qualifications/ Experience/Knowledge:
Essential
- Previous Management of a team of quantity surveyors, costing staff and project planners
- Experience working in a Construction, MEP or Specialist Services background
- Experienced in client engagement.
- Degree qualified, or equivalent
- Experience of development and implementation of procedures
- Knowledge of a wide range of contract conditions
- Strong contractual experience
- Excellent IT skills and knowledge of relevant software
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of stakeholders (internal & external)
- Ability to effectively prioritise a busy workload and meet project deadlines.
- Evidence new ways of thinking which deliver project benefits.
- Ability to influence others.
Desirable
- Member of RICS or other relevant professional body, or working towards
- Experience of working in the Nuclear, Power Generation & Transmission Sectors
