Commercial Analyst - Warwick (with hybrid working)
Interconnectors connect the GB Electricity transmission network with other transmission networks such as in France, Norway and Denmark. This reduces costs for GB consumers with access to cheaper, greener energy sources and it increases our security of supply – helping to prevent blackouts in dark winter months! The Commercial Operations Team is responsible for ensuring effective day-to-day commercial running of National Grid Ventures’ (NGV) portfolio of operational interconnectors and integrating construction projects into operations post-commissioning. The team leads on the relationship with our joint venture partners (RTE, Statnett and Energinet in the coming months) and the GB System Operator, ensuring that day-to-day operation is compliant with relevant legislation and contractual obligations.
In this role you will be the commercial analyst leading on the key commercial settlements and processes which underpin the team’s core responsibilities. You will have a keen eye for detail and a high focus on delivering quality. You will be empowered to improve and adapt the processes to drive efficiencies for the team and our partners.
We’d hope to see you in the office or on-site at least one day per week but you’re welcome to be in the office more often if that would work best for you. We’re happy to discuss any additional flexibility in working patterns or requirements that you feel could help to make this job work for you!
What you'll be getting up to
- Lead on all key commercial financial processes and settlements for the team
- Maintain strong working relationships with our partner organisations
- Implement process improvements with a continuous improvement mindset in order to deliver best practice
- Interface with cross functional teams and key stakeholders to deliver the required outputs
- Develop and own reporting mechanisms for key commercial processes · Raise and monitor purchase orders for the team
About You
- Intermediate Excel and numeracy skills are essential
- Ability to collate information and prepare reporting models, presenting to a range of stakeholders
- Good organisation and time management
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- A basic understanding of problem solving skills and best practice
- Power BI skills are a nice to have but can be learnt on the job
