The job on offer

As a result of Capgemini’s continued success there is the opportunity to join the UK Commercial and Contract Management function supporting the UK’s growth agenda. You will be in a client facing role providing expert and pragmatic commercial support to our sales teams and working with our clients to secure new, profitable business. You will interface with sales and account managers, finance, bid management, solution teams, procurement and legal.

Your role


You will be responsible for promoting and applying commercial best practice during the sales process to drive value for our clients and Capgemini. You will be the commercial lead for pursuits becoming the point of contact with the client and the Capgemini team for all commercial matters.

As the Commercial Manager, you will:

  • Lead or be involved in deal shaping
  • Be a member of the pursuit leadership team, taking a key role in the ongoing development of the commercial strategy to support our clients’ and Capgemini’s business objectives
  • Act as the single point of contact (both internally and for the client) for all commercial matters
  • Participate in and/or lead senior level negotiations with both internal stakeholders and clients
  • Review, draft and finalise client contractual documents in compliance with company policies in conjunction with regional Legal teams

Your profile

  • Previous experience of commercial management on high value, high complexity pursuits and/or new name clients
  • Detailed understanding of key legal, commercial principles and obligations found in IT contracts (including specific variations that may apply to a particular market/geography because of legislation/regulation or common practice e.g. GDPR, Financial Distress, etc.)
  • Broad experience of IT sales and service delivery
  • Excellent client facing skills with the ability to negotiate with external stakeholders to secure favourable terms and conditions, while protecting the interests of the organisation
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to think laterally
  • Track record of identifying risk and building risk mitigation strategies in relation to complex Commercial/Legal issues
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and work in multifunctional pursuit teams
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to align contract terms with organizational objectives
