We're looking for a Commercial Finance Analyst (parental leave cover), who will be responsible for key aspects of commercial finance analysis, interpretation of results/performance and reporting.

Responsibility for analysing, validating and reporting on key elements the financial and business performance of Virgin Red and the Flying Club, on a periodical and ad hoc basis including analysis, interpretation, verification and commentary;
- Detailed modelling for new initiatives/partnerships and strategic business cases;
- Preparation of ‘deal sheets’ with supporting commercial analysis for all potential new deals and initiatives, supporting the new business development team;
- Challenge all commercial activity/performance with a view to driving optimised growth and profitability;
- Monthly preparation of quantified risks and opportunities for key aspects of earn and spend of Virgin Points as well as development of action plans in order to mitigate risks;
- Undertaking regular meetings with heads of department and other key stakeholders to report on analysis and performance, including preparation of slide decks, reporting packs and so on;
- Key role in all aspects of business planning, budgeting and forecasting processes, including liaison/challenge across the business and supporting allocated business partners.
What you’ll need
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualification or equivalent
- Advanced EXCEL skills
- Demonstrable experience of a key role in commercial finance or commercially focused projects within an accounting practice.
- Ability of working at a senior stakeholder level;
- Experience of working to tight deadlines and managing team with the desire to optimise and grow business performance
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex analysis clearly and concisely to non-finance personnel.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
