Salary: £87,000 - £92,000 (Depending on Experience)

The team at Peterborough have design control for the Energy product line of batteries, and lead the performance specification, design, development, and validation from concept into production.

The Opportunity: reporting to the Division CFO, this role will work side by side with Electrification and Advanced Power Solution (E+APSD) Commercial Leaders, machine and engine business partners and strategic consultants to deliver a viable Commercial and Technical solution for Caterpillar, supporting alternative power solutions.
JOB DUTIES: The primary responsibility of this role will be to work with a cross-functional team to understand business requirements, and define end-to-end financial and accounting processes, systems, controls, and governance required to support existing and emerging business models. The role will drive discussions around investment and resource requirements. The role will be essential in setting up new transactional flows, working with both commercial and technical leaders across sales, strategy, tax, compliance, legal entity, technical accounting, corporate, treasury, IT and other global functional teams and leaders from across the enterprise as well as with counterparts within Cat Financial.
The role will also need to determine gaps and updates required in existing enterprise systems, functions, and procedures including, but not limited to, capital and asset management, revenue recognition, legal entity structure and transactions, trade compliance, customer/product/dealer support, while ensuring the best customer experience for these emerging business models and practices that may be new to the organization. The role will help shape new business models and emerging technologies within Caterpillar, acting as a thought leader, leaving an impactful mark across the enterprise.

This role will be essential in setting up new transactional flows, working with both commercial and technical leaders across sales, strategy, tax, compliance, legal entity, technical accounting, etc. to ensure xyz. Business Support Manager are managers are often responsible for most or all of the following: Strategy and Planning, Pricing, Scheduling, Orders, Accounting and Financial Reporting, Business Analysis, Business Support, and 6 Sigma.
Provide Business Analysis support for the Division. Key elements of the business analysis role are the establishment of target costs, cost monitoring, new product introduction analysis, value chain analysis, investment analysis, sourcing analysis, product costing and supporting worldwide NPI projects. In all aspects of business analysis, both an enterprise and accountable perspective is utilized. Results are used to guide Division decision-making.
Managing either all aspects of accounting and financial reporting or development of product price strategies. For accounting and financial reporting the incumbent will guide the division’s annual business plan, monthly rolling business management, long term forecast associated with EOR/SRC (Executive Office Review/Strategic Review Conference), volume flexibility planning. Responsible for the division’s monthly accounting and financial reporting and compliance with local and U.S. GAAP. Provides analysis of business statements (product center and enterprise) to assist managers in managing costs and revenues in product and operations areas. Participates in strategy development to improve accountable profit results. Manages and coordinates the development of accounting related functions for the Business Units, including actual and planned accountable profit business statements and inventory analysis. Guides the 6 Sigma financial justification for the division.
Guide Pricing function for the Division. Coordinates the ordering/scheduling and develops the pricing strategy and annual price plan for product. Develops pricing analysis and evaluates business scenarios of various pricing strategies including predictions of competitive reactions. Works with product groups and marketing companies to review plans that establish prices on a worldwide basis.
Lead unit Strategic & Operation Planning (S&OP) process that includes management of prime product and attachment scheduling & orders areas, assembly line slotting and order fulfillment.
Lead and ensure compliance with the unit’s Business Risk Management governance process and Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls by ensuring effective and adequate documentation of analysis.
Basic Requirements:
Significant progressively responsible job-related experience - ideally supported by a degree preferably in Accounting for Finance
Strong background in accounting, cost accounting, and budget development
Strong analytical skills are required to perform detailed financial analysis and prepare strategic plans
Excellent interpersonal skills in order to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, or persuade others inside and outside the department to take specific action
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
Masters Degree
Credentialed expertise (CPA or CMA) and solid practical experience involving technical accounting and reporting issues
Good knowledge of our Industry
Experience of leading and inspiring teams
