Job description
We’re Ocado Retail. We’re the people powering Ocado.com, the UK’s fastest-growing grocer, and Ocado Zoom, our almost-as-fast-growing, same-day grocery service. As the world’s biggest and best online-only grocer, we work tirelessly to bring more of what matters to our customers: unbeatable range, fair value and effortless convenience.
We’re an exceptional and mighty bunch of colleagues who are inspired by our three awesome values: Always be curious, Bring your best self and Challenge what's possible. We’re growing fast, and we’re looking for like-minded people to join us for the next step of this.
About Zoom by Ocado
Zoom is our fast-growing rapid delivery service, delivering convenience without compromise to customers in London and Leeds. With over 10,000 products to choose from, Zoom gives customers more choices than other rapid delivery services, all delivered in less than 60 minutes.
Although we work very closely with our colleagues in Ocado.com, Zoom is its own business, with a separate website and app, and a small dedicated team that looks after ranging, pricing and promotions, the content of the website and app, and marketing. So, if you want to come and work for the world's largest online-only grocer in an entrepreneurial role, this is the team for you.
The Role
At Zoom, we pride ourselves on the wealth of data we have available to us and how this can be utilised to drive the business forward as we grow rapidly, expand into new cities, and shift our mix of customer demographics.
We're looking for a Commercial Analyst to extract and make sense of this data in order to help inform our decisions on a wide range of commercial topics from pricing and promotional strategy, range differentiation between sites, on-site Merchandising impact and supplier performance, to the dynamics of our customer’s shopping habits.
The successful candidate will turn data into actionable insight and see the results applied to the Zoom platform in a very agile manner allowing new ideas to be trialled and tested quickly and providing significant opportunity for immediate impact and input into the future of the Zoom business.
In this role, you'll have the chance to work on both tactical queries as well as supporting the Zoom commercial team and wider business to develop longer-term strategies. Your day-to-day tasks and responsibilities will centre around managing, completing and reviewing analytical projects and tasks to better understand how customers interact with our site, and what we can change to influence their decisions allowing us to step the business forward.
If you’ve had prior experience working as an analyst and want to expand your remit to develop breadth across a wide range of commercial topics working in a small team with the ability to see the results applied immediately, then this is the role for you.
