An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Specialist Children and Adolescence Mental Health (S-CAMHS) Early Intervention for Psychosis (EIP) Service for an experienced and enthusiastic Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team to help deliver a high quality effective service to help young people (14-25 years old) with a first episode of psychosis (FEP) in their recovery and to gain a good quality of life.
You will be joining a very experienced, multi-disciplinary team of nurses, psychotherapists, and medical staff. Although, you will be part of the Specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, you will work closely with colleagues in Adult Mental Health Services, Adult Primary and Secondary Mental Health Services to ensure that individuals experience a seamless and co-ordinated approach to their care.
As a service we offer monthly supervision from an experienced CBT therapist, as well as peer support and continuing professional activities to aid with professional development. You will also be part of the wider psychological therapies teams and therefore have access to other multi-modularity therapists.
We welcome applications from qualified CBT therapists who have experience within Adult services and/or sCAMHS.
Practice: – High intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
The post holder will be an accredited CBT therapist practicing high intensity therapy in a specialist area with complex, difficult to treat patients within the early intervention psychosis (EIP) Service.
Supervision and Training; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
The post holder will provide supervision and training in CBT based interventions for practitioners, providing both individual and group Low Intensity Interventions in the EIP service in line with service needs.
Provide effective, efficient and comprehensive cognitive CBT and specialist assessments and interventions for young people who are accessing therapy within the EIP Service in line with the Matric Plant and NICE Guidelines. Will be a member of a multi-disciplinary EIP team providing assessment and therapeutic intervention in examining and developing coping strategies to manage symptoms. The post holder will be expected to work towards the development of expertise within clinical specialism of CBT-e and provide training across designated services.
Training monies have been secured for the successful candidate to undertake CBT for Psychosis (CBTp) and Psychosis Training as part of their role
Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. This is an exciting opportunity not only for someone experienced in the expert delivery of CBT, but also for someone who has perhaps recently completed formal CBT training at a recognised establishment, or is about to complete such training. It will give the successful applicants the opportunity to consolidate learned skills by dedicating most of their working day to providing CBT in a highly supportive and supervised environment, which will help them significantly on their path not only to CBT therapist accreditation with the BABCP, but in developing their skills, competence and confidence as a CBT therapist. Applicants should be able to demonstrate that they will be able to attain BABCP accreditation in no more than 12 months, as career progression would be dependent on this.
If you are in a position to attain your accreditation within 12 months of attaining the post you are welcome to apply as the post is advertised utilising Annex 21: Arrangements for pay and banding of trainees. This will mean that during a pre agreed time period (12 months maximum) whilst you are attaining your accreditation, you will be paid at 75% of the pay grade. Applicants will only be considered for this post under Annex 21 with evidence clearly indicated within your application form that they are in a position to reach the required accreditation, with the BABCP, within the specified period. Failure to achieve this in the designated timeframe could result in re-deployment.
