The Opportunity:
The Revenue Recovery Specialist is a subject matter expert and is responsible for the maximization of reimbursement by identifying contractual variances between posted and expected reimbursement for managed care, government contracts, and other various payors. This responsibility encompasses contractual reimbursement analysis and communication of payment discrepancies to internal and external departments. Identify trends in underpayment/overpayments, denials, revenue opportunities and revenue leakage. Evaluate trends with analysis and judgement to work towards resolutions and improvement of revenue cycle processes. Analyze and interpret contract reimbursement and provide feedback to management staff as required. Review large amounts of remittance data looking for charge/billing opportunities for revenue optimization

Essential Job Functions:
  • Research and identify payment discrepancies from various sources
  • Compile and analyze data to make recommendations
  • Work with financial and clinical departments collaboratively
  • Review contract validation, updates, and interpretation
  • Resolve underpaid claims in an effective and timely fashion
  • Analysis of payor policies and exercising and interpretation of impact on reimbursement
  • Present data and effectively communicate to various levels of end users
  • Ensure account analysis is validated prior to distribution
  • Work on multiple projects/initiatives at a time¬¬¬¬
  • Maintain applicable continuing education requirements

Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of relevant job experience in the hospital insurance industry required
  • Keen understanding of the revenue cycle and opportunity for uncollected revenue required.
  • Minimum Education - Highschool, GED, Equivalent experience
  • Ensemble Associate to obtain CRCR certification within 9 months of hire
