Collections Supervisor

What you'll be doing;
- Assisting the Environmental Manager in ensuring the high standard of operational service whilst focusing on the Health and Safety of both the operatives and the general public.
- Promoting a robust sustainable safety culture within the contract.
- Updating and retaining a strong knowledge of fleet and road transport law.
- Promote personal ownership, maintaining accurate records, monitoring checks (vehicles, PPE etc.) and timely accident investigations.
- Ensuring any accidents are responded to immediately and fully investigated, and that all documentation is produced and presented to your Environmental Manager.
- Ensuring that all Operatives carry out their duties to a high standard.
- Liaising with the Client Officers to resolve any routine problems and ascertain to inform them of any future intentions. Keeping the client informed of all daily activities through progress reports.
- Maintaining a professional relationship with Client staff and documenting all meetings and contact.
- Continuously reviewing and analysing operational data/service information to ensure that excellence in service delivery is maintained to maximum effectiveness, whilst building a culture of continuous improvement.
- Perform various people management activities of the operational team in an effective, appropriate and timely manner.
- Working collectively with the Resource Manager, ensuring all new employees have received induction training.
- Participating in daily and monthly contract monitoring surveys and assisting with generating written reports as necessary.
- Deputising for the Environmental Manager when required.
What we're looking for;
- Ability to supervise and train employees including organising, prioritising and scheduling work assignments to meet timelines.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and demonstrate strong initiative.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and prioritise tasks.
- Good knowledge and background on Health and Safety working in the Waste Ancillary and Collections environment.
- HGV Class 2 licence and valid CPC to be a back-up to the Collections service.
- Flexibility to work varied hours Monday to Sunday to support the Ancillary and Collections service as and when required.
- Ability to communicate well with members of the public and the clients Senior Area Monitoring Officers.
- Discuss job performance with staff members to identify and develop and support them.
