We are looking for a Collections Specialist who has experience working with small businesses to recover outstanding balances on loans and current accounts. You will strike a balance between maintaining trustful relationships and ensuring timely payments. You should have excellent communication and negotiation skills, as well as an ability to work independently on complex cases.

Working Arrangements: This role will spend the first 6 weeks onsite in our Cardiff office, full time. After this period, the role will be hybrid with at least 2 days per week spent in the office.
Responsibilities
- Monitor accounts to identify outstanding debts or loans that may be in default
- Investigate historical data for each debt or bill
- Find and contact businesses to ask about their overdue payments
- Take actions to encourage timely debt payments
- Process payments and refunds
- Resolve billing and customer credit issues
- Update account status records and collection efforts
- Report on collection activity and accounts receivable status
- Proven experience within a collections role, preferably to include experience of working with business customers
- Knowledge of billing procedures and collection techniques (e.g. skip tracing)
- Familiarity with laws and regulation related to debt collection
- Skilled in negotiation
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Problem-solving skills
- Flexibility to work some weekends
