Salary: £28,000 - £31,000 per annum, plus benefits

Overview of role
We have an exciting opportunity as a Collections Assistant within Finance, reporting to the Collections & Cash Management Manager.
You will be conducting credit management and collection activities, working to minimise the risk of bad debt and deliver prompt and efficient collection of funds due to TfL to support cash flow. This involves running customer credit checks, as well as pursuing the collection of over overdue debt and escalating to the Collections & Cash Management Manager as required.
You will also be delivering work to meet KPIs measuring the collections activity, while maintaining a cost-efficient service.
Key Accountabilities
- Run credit checks on new customers
- Support the dunning process and aid the collection of overdue debt
- Conduct exception billing activity as required (e.g. generating exception invoices / issuing invoice adjustments)
- Deliver against defined KPIs
- Remain up to date and comply with relevant policies, controls, thresholds and guides, adopting a risk-based approach to activities
- Address external customer and business / finance queries as required.
- Ensure appropriate escalation of issues and risks to other team members or Collections & Cash Management Manager as required

Knowledge
- Knowledge of the credit management and collection process and how it fits in with the wider Order to Cash process as well as dependencies on other Finance and business processes (Desirable)
- Working knowledge of the SAP system (Essential)
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software (Essential)
- Basic understanding of accounting principles (Desirable)
Experience
- Experience supporting credit management and collection activity (Desirable)
- Experience of working in a business services environment (Desirable)
- Experience in supporting continuous improvement initiatives (Desirable)
- Experience in dealing with third-parties (Desirable)
- Experience using SAP
