Collections and Cataloguing Specialist Harrogate, England

Bettys & Taylors Group
Full Time Harrogate, England 17868 - 28800 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

As a business that was founded over a century ago, our archive plays an essential role in capturing, keeping safe and sharing our heritage. Now, a rare vacancy has arisen for an Archive Collection and Cataloguing Specialist, to join us on a 12 month fixed term contract and ideally, you will be available straight away.

The role’s key objective is to lead-on and deliver Bettys & Taylors archival collection and cataloguing policies and processes, to make sure that our business heritage and on-going story is collected and preserved for the future. While much of the focus will be on collection, sorting and cataloguing, you’ll also be responsible for other archival tasks including maintaining our company timeline, providing search and research support, and working as part of our Archive Governance Group.

About you

You’ll need experience of developing collections and cataloguing mixed media collections, ideally coupled with an archival qualification. Alongside this, you’ll be highly IT literate with a solid understanding of record digitalisation, archiving digital records, online cataloguing and content management systems. As a specialist role in a business setting, you’ll need to be highly motivated and confident in working independently, build strong working relationships, and ideally have experience in bringing archival expertise and insight to stakeholders and non-specialists.

What we offer you

As a minimum, all our employees receive free meals, drinks and snacks while at work, a discretionary quarterly profit-share bonus, holiday allowance with the option to buy and (in some cases) sell additional days, company-wide employee discounts, access to our health cash plan, wellbeing support, company funded counselling, and enrolment in the company pension.

We also offer a range of development opportunities no matter your role and ambitions. We encourage everyone to explore what makes them the best version of themselves, and we do this through external training programmes, apprenticeships and internal 1:1 coaching schemes.

Great People, Great Culture

We are Bettys & Taylors Group. Our family business is home to three iconic Yorkshire brands – Yorkshire Tea, Bettys and Taylors of Harrogate. Together we share a passion for quality, service and doing things properly. We are driven by our purpose and our values, and we believe our people are what set us apart. We welcome applications from all cultures, backgrounds, and experiences and we are committed to offering an inclusive culture where everyone can thrive.
