An exciting development opportunityhas arisen for the post of aband 7 Cognitive Behavioural Therapist/Psychologistor aTrainee CBTp Therapist, specialising in psychosis within the Wigan Early Intervention Service. The team works with individuals aged 14 - 65 years and their families who are experiencing a First Episode Psychosis. Inthis developing role, you will be working alongside our Senior Psychological Therapist, CBTp Therapist and an Assistant Psychologist. The role will primarily involve providing NICE concordant CBTp toclients with psychosis and other complex needs.

The service will provide training and support in the Meriden model of family therapy. This is thecurrent model and approach for Behavioural Family Therapy for families/service users experiencing psychosis. The role would also provide opportunity to support others in the team who are providing this intervention through consultation and supervision.

The post holder will be responsible for providing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Psychosis, working with individuals aged between 14 -65 experiencing first episode psychosis.

The postholder will be part of a multi-disciplinary team for mental health services and, as such, will work within its co-ordinated framework.

The postholder will work within the procedures, protocols and guidelines for the Service.

The postholder will plan and organise their work schedule and tasks, having managerial and clinical supervision as the role demands.

The post holder is primarily responsible for providing assessment/therapies (particularly Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Psychosis (CBTp) and Family Interventions) to people experiencing psychosis related difficulties in receipt of a service from the Wigan / Leigh Early Intervention Team.

Although the post holder will be primarily responsible for providing psychological input to individual clients, they will function as an integral member of the service’s multi-disciplinary team, and will on occasion support care coordination, crisis management and other tasks that will support us to provide the best possible service to our clients.

In conjunction with other psychological therapists working within the service, the post holder will contribute as appropriate to the provision of individual and group evidenced based interventions.

The post holder will contribute to the supervision and development of other staff.

The post holder will work within the policies, procedures and guidelines for the Wigan / Leigh Directorate and the Early Intervention Service.

The post holder will plan and organise their work schedule and tasks within the parameters of the Job Plan agreed with the Team Manager.
