Coffee Shop Assistant
Location: Catterick Garrison
Salary: £10.10 - £10.75/hour (depending on experience)
Hours: Part Time - a minimum of 12 hours/week

NAAFI have a fantastic opportunity for a customer focused individual to join us as Coffee Shop Assistants on an exciting new venture on a part time basis with the option to do extra hours when required.
We have launched a brand new coffee shop in the Garrison town of Catterick and are seeking passionate, energetic, hardworking and dedicated individuals to form part of our growing team.

Role:
To be passionate about customer service and the NAAFI brand by ensuring NAAFI provides a first-class level of service to all our customers.
Assist your management team to achieve all outlets targets and standards and continuously deliver and maintain excellent standards through all aspects of your offer.
Protect and promote the NAAFI brand by assisting in educating our customers about our non-profit retaining status and what we do to support our British Armed Forces through on-site service or NAAFI Funding.
Ensure our customers and colleagues have an enjoyable NAAFI experience and become NAAFI advocates. Always use integrity and respect in all aspects of your daily duties.
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for delivering a positive customer experience. All customers should be greeted and served in a proactive, courteous, friendly, and helpful manner and all food and drinks should be prepared and served in line with the food safety and NAAFI quality requirements, with all brand standards are always adhered to.
· Responsible for the safe storage, preparation and serving of all food and beverage items accordance with ingredient cards and ensuring that only the highest quality product is served to our customer. Ensuring that Food Safety standards are met across all areas of the outlet in line with all the requirements of the Food Safety Act, HACCP and NAAFI Policy.
· Responsible for maintaining the highest levels of personal hygiene, appearance, and conduct.
· Responsible for ensuring your own, your customers and colleagues Health & Safety is maintained by following the controls put in place by risk assessment and following SSOW and manual handling techniques.
· Responsible for promoting NAAFI and sales activity by proactively offering advice to customers and acting on their comments and suggestions to increase sales and our brand image. Providing information on what we do and what their sales helps to achieve with the NAAFI Fund.
· Responsible for accepting and accurately processing payments using a variety of methods.
· Responsible for accepting deliveries and checking and replenishing stock levels in line with date rotation requirements and ensuring all legislation is met as well as NAAFI requirements on stock quality and presentation. Ensure any stock not reaching the required quality is disposed of in accordance with NAAFI policy.
· Responsible for proactively maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene and the health and safety of our premises and ensuring the requirements of any cleaning rotas and schedules are completed and all cleaning products are used in accordance with COSHH Assessments and Manufacturers instruction.
· Assist colleagues in the completion of outlet daily, weekly and monthly tasks as directed by the outlet schedules and line manager including supporting management with opening and closing of the outlet.
· To undertake any reasonable request within the scope and grade of the role and to carry out other duties as reasonably requested by NAAFI for the needs of the business to enable delivery of service, including taking part in activities in the wider operational part of the business as and when required.
Requirements of the role of Coffee Shop Assistant:
· Retail, hospitality or customer service experience.
· Ability to communicate effectively with people
· Ability to work on under your own initiative and as part of a team
· Energetic, passionate and dynamic
· Food handling experience (desirable)
· Cash handling/POS experience (desirable)
· Good written and numerical skills
