For this position, the Career Center at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Career Coach to join the Career Center’s College of Education Career team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
*Lead efforts toward planning and implementing career development and job search programs and services to students, by working with students, faculty, and staff in the College of Education. This includes, but is not limited to, individual advising teaching, programming, and group workshops. *Identify internship opportunities aligned with departmental requirements for their assigned department. Promote available internships to students and the College of Education team. Provide internship search guidance for students. Work with College of Education team and Career Center Employer Services team to ensure internship best practices are developed and followed. Help match students to appropriate internship opportunities. *Cultivate and support relationships with current and new employers recruiting students from assigned department, in partnership with the COE Dean’s Office and the UNT Career Center. *Lead job and internship market research efforts for their assigned area, in order to provide current and relevant data to faculty and students. Work directly with student organizations in making connections to corporate speakers/mentors. *Manage the assessment of career programs, services, and outcomes and deliver reports to their supervisor. *Provide marketing of career services to the students and faculty in the assigned department.
- Excellent public speaking skills with experience in conducting training workshops.
- Ability to provide leadership and mentoring to student populations.
- Experience in networking across departments and programs.
- Ability to communicate and work with a diverse population.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to simultaneously execute multiple projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, and computer skills.
- Experience in Kinesiology, Health, Recreation, and/or Human Development and Family Sciences.
