Job description
The job will entail the repair of commercial vehicles, mostly trailers. General wear and tear and accident work. Must be able to work to a high standard and self motivated.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble and build metal structures according to codes and standards
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols
- Operate various tools and equipment such as plasma cutters, welding machines, grinders, and forklifts
- Perform welding, soldering, and brazing tasks to join metal components
- Conduct inspections to ensure quality and adherence to specifications
- Use machining equipment to shape and fabricate metal parts
- Rig and move heavy materials using appropriate lifting techniques
Skills:
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of fabrication processes
- Proficient in various welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, and stick welding
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics
- Experience with plasma cutting and other metal fabrication tools
- Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £24,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
