JOB SUMMARY
The STC at CD is responsible for upholding scrum values within your team(s) and beyond. They act as a coach for one to two teams, focusing on a shared understanding of the roles and ceremonies within scrum while still allowing for the team to explore practices that work for them.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Solely focused on "Scrum Master" (as per the Scrum Guide) responsibilities on assigned team(s), helping to resolve complex problems, taking a new perspective using existing solutions
- Introduce and uphold a shared understanding of scrum values, ceremonies, and roles with the team
- Responsible for ensuring there is appropriate visibility and transparency of the team’s work
- Ensure execution of sprints through key ceremonies such as daily scrums, sprint planning and retrospective
- Demonstrate proficient knowledge of Scrum practices, planning, forecasting, reporting, conflict resolution and facilitation
- Collaborates with teams and stakeholders on sprint planning, impediment removal, and team delivery
- Responsible for coordinating releases for their team, where applicable, and driving team towards delivery
- Encourages accountability of scrum commitments within team
- Understands ownership may start with the Scrum Master but works towards shifting to the team itself
- Acts as a mirror for the team, helping identify root causes and works with the team to own their improvement journey
- Establish performance of a team through continuous improvement
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to lead, plan, execute and evaluate project activities, contributing to team's direction and function; providing advice to the team and delivery leadership
- Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across teams and functions
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form to all levels and types of stakeholders (i.e. business, technology, sponsors and control functions)
- Demonstrates adaptability, flexibility and creativity in their approach to stakeholder engagement of agile practices
