Key Objective of the Role

Ensure the safety of yourself and others around you.

Producing high quality components for both standard production and prototype/product development initiatives whilst modelling your behaviours in line with our values and guiding principles.

You will work to production schedules and strive towards productive maintenance and continuous improvement standards to ensure your equipment and working environment meet the highest possible standards.

You will provide support to the site teams to ensure compliance with any legislative requirements.

You will have a “win the hour, win the day” mentality and support your supervisor as needed.

You will adhere to all works rules, policies, and standards. Communicating openly, promptly, and professionally at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

· You will contribute to safety audits and SIO generation (Safety Improvement Opportunities), creating a culture of ‘safety first.’

· Ensure full compliance of Health and Safety procedures including SOP adherence, PPE and Workwear and contributing to incident investigations as required.

· You will report any safety issues promptly, reinforce policies to others where needed and reminding them of their right to stop work.

· Receive and issue permits to work and ensure that engineering work is carried out to Health & Safety, Environment and Engineering standards.

· Ensure that Maintenance systems are fully utilised to optimise performance.

· Support with the training and coaching of apprentices if required.

· Implementation of Risk Assessments and support of HAZARD assessments.

· Responsible for process control and end of line quality in your areas of work

· Sustain good housekeeping standards and ensure compliance to production schedules

· Actively participate in capturing and closing out problem solving or corrective actions.

· To follow standard work, help to deliver SQDCIP targets, attending daily meetings as needed.

· Assist with shift handover and on occasion support/cover other areas in their absence

· Work collaboratively within and across teams

· Be available for training and development opportunities

· The role is 40 hours per week, currently operating Mon-Fri 0800-1630 with a 30 min unpaid break. 23 days holiday plus stats (increasing with service). Up to 5 days of holiday allowance may be retained for Christmas closure. Overtime rate is x1.5 on all hours beyond the contractual 40.

Experience and Background Requirements

· Time Served/HNC/HND with minimum three-years’ experience of interpreting/producing to drawings

· Previous experience of a ‘SAFETY FIRST’ culture

· Previous experience of a ‘Quality culture of ‘RIGHT FIRST TIME’

· Previous experience of working in a manufacturing or development environment

· Previous experience of working flexibly, conducting basic problem solving or training others

· Experience of working with a SQDCIP (or equivalent) production management system is desirable

· Good computer skills desirable and experience of basic business software advantageous
