We have a great opportunity to expand our team at our Yeovil Workshop.
You will perform test runs and make adjustments until the resulting product meets blueprint specifications.
You will be responsible for interpreting project blueprints and setting up machines to produce the component outlined in the program. You will also be responsible for performing machine maintenance and cleaning.
As a CNC Programmer & Operator at SB Joinery, typical duties include;
- You will work on the full range of products including bespoke doors, cabinets, and various other components.
- Oversee machinery setup to make sure arrangement is safe and ready to handle its assigned load.
- Loading of material into machines.
- Cut, mill, or drill materials in machine as needed by adjusting speed, the path of the cut and other factors.
- Performs work by following the company's operating standards and international regulations.
- Make sure cutters are well-stocked so as few interruptions of service as possible.
- Verifies inventory and requests orders as necessary on tooling and materials.
- Complete daily machine checks and sign off using check sheet.
- Examine machinery production output to verify the product is acceptable to move onto the next part of the production process.
To be successful in this role you will have;
- Technical and practical knowledge of woods, machining timber and maintenance of machines.
- Previous experience as a CNC Programmer.
- Strong understanding of furniture and cabinetry construction and materials and a strong attention to technical detail.
- Experience of working with hardwood, softwood, MDF, plywood and solid surfaces would be an advantage.
- Have excellent communication skills, fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high quality standards.
- Excellent personal time & task management.
Notes;
The standard working week is 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday however flexibility can be discussed. The successful candidate will be be required to travel to our Yeovil workshop.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £12.00-£17.00 per hour
