ElringKlinger is looking for a
Tooling Engineer Sourcing
Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Initiate measures for continuous improvement (CIP) and cost reduction for existing tools to reduce scrap, rejects and maintenance (incl. increase efficiency) based on the standardized KPI in the tooling department in cooperation with the corporate unit -tooling headquarter.
Coordinate cost saving measures regarding stock reduction and decrease of external orders, as defined by corporate unit to ensure the fulfilment of the strategy targets.
Prepare sourcing recommendations for the ElringKlinger Production Plants.
Evaluate and approve tool /gage/fixture concepts and design details proposed by the toolmakers.
Be the main liaison to the toolmakers to report and control the required activities until tool implementation.
Support North American based production facilities during the tool implementation.
Work with ElringKlinger partner organizations to evaluate and qualify new fabrication technologies for greater efficiency.
Provide technical expertise to the manufacturing organization in developing and streamlining production processes
Complete special projects
Work with internal manufacturing disciplines to optimize design for production processes.
Review product drawings and models for quote packages
Manage development programs from quote through production.
Write specifications and requirements for build and qualification run off.
Coordinate with the suppliers to resolve technical and production issues.
Minimum Qualifications:
5+ years’ experience in tool manufacturing / design with working knowledge of the sheet metal stamping & forming tooling industry.
Minimum 5-year technical degree preferred, but experienced hands-on person will also be considered.
Tooling and Die design and manufacturing experience.
Demonstrates an understanding of the metal stamping processes, capabilities and materials.
Understand process flow and job costing.
