AETC Limited is a UK division of the industry leading Precision Castparts Corp (PCC), which employs over 30,500 people across the globe. PCC is the world’s largest manufacturer of airfoil components for the aerospace and Industrial power generation markets. At AETC we manufacture a range of products from the smallest aerospace parts to large industrial gas turbine parts and as such, we are a key figure in the power generation supply chain and aerospace market.
We have roles in both our EDM and Grinding areas.
Overall Purpose:
To operate CNC Machines (Grinding and EDM) in line with workload requirements, ensuring that all parts are machined to meet customer requirements and strict quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
· Operating CNC Grinding Machines, ensuring that parts are machined in accordance with the agreed method specification
· Attain machine setting skills to enable machine set ups in line with Company requirements.
· Understanding of engineering drawings, ensuring that fixtures are correctly aligned
· Inspecting parts in line with quality procedures and taking any necessary, approved, action to resolve quality issues
· Operating CMM machines to support inspection requirement.
· Consistently achieving all targets (production, quality, housekeeping etc), as set by the Cell Manager.
· Adherence to all company policy’s and procedures, including SOX, Code of Conduct and Health and Safety.
Requirements for the position of the CNC Operator:
- Previous experience in CNC Grinding is advantageous but not essential.
- Previous experience in CNC machining is advantageous.
- Experience within an Aerospace sector is advantageous.
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Able to self-inspect own parts using manual measuring equipment
- Experience of using machinery is advantageous.

Hours
37-hour contract - 3 shift pattern (morning, afternoon and night rotation)
Morning Hours
05:45 - 13:45 Monday - Thursday
05:45 - 10:45 Friday
Afternoon Hours
13:45 - 21:45 Monday - Thursday
10:45 - 15:45 Friday
Night Hours
21:45 - 05:45 Monday - Thursday
15:45 - 20:45 Friday
Please note whilst training for the role hours of work will be -
08:00 - 16:25 Monday - Thursday
08:00 13:20 Friday
Holidays
26 days floating + 7 statutory days
This holiday entitlement increases after 10 years to 27 days
Overtime
Overtime available and paid in line with agreed rates
Job Type: Full-time
Basic Salary: £13.04 per hour
Shift Premium for 3 shift rotations is 21% - £2.73
This gives a starting hourly rate on shifts of £15.76
There is opportunity for an increase to £17 per hour (inc. shift pay) following comprehensive training regimes.
