Crosby Composites (established in 1982) is the number one composite manufacturer in the UK, excelling in the design and manufacture of high-quality carbon fibre parts. Our global customers cover Formula 1, motorsport but primarily automotive, making components and bodywork for some of the most prestigious and outrageous hyper cars in the world. Our services in supporting this include conceptual design, bespoke tolling and manufacturing (with inhouse state of the art spray painting, kit cutting and multiple large autoclaves).

Apprenticeship Scheme
Joining our apprenticeship scheme will give you a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and experience within our manufacturing team. We are committed to ensuring your professional success and our scheme will give you the opportunity to develop new work placed skills. As an apprentice, you will fully commit to the 20% off-the-job training requirements of the role, alongside your normal day to day job. This is managed through 1 day per week at college. You will have the opportunity to be apart of a high performing team and to develop the behaviours, knowledge and professional skills to be a part of that team. CNC and Inspection Apprenticeship - Job Description
Learning to manufacture or assemble a range of components or vehicles across a production line ensuring required standards of quality are met. This role is part of an apprenticeship scheme which will lead to a qualification or company standard approval process. You will learn to work to strict safety and quality requirements, help to achieve daily production requirements in terms of quality and quantity, optimising efficiency and maintaining operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities (what you will learn):
- Setting up and running of Haas VMS with trunnion, UMC750, Bridgeports and CMS Ares 5 axis CNC machines.
- Machining of patterns, moulds and component trimming for carbon fibre components.
- The machining of different types of material including Tooling board, Aluminium, MCP and Carbon fibre.
- Using Haas, Heidenhain and Fanuc controls effectively.
- Using Setup sheets and drawings to machine various parts to a high level of accuracy, to tight deadlines with minimum supervision.
- Effective team player and communicator.
- Good verbal communication and listening skills.
- Measure all the parts machined to drawings.
