Chief Marketing Officer

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Marketing Officer is responsible for bringing GTW mission and vision to the market. As chief marketing officer, he/she will lead GTW’s product marketing, world-wide sales, brand, Licensing & Pricing, media relations, RFPs, market research and communications functions, including advertising and promotions. This person should be passionate about developing marketing programs that may include digital campaigns, offline promotions, webinars, and events. The successful candidate will have deep knowledge of marketing strategy and the online advertising space. The candidate will also have strong content development skills, experience working with sales leadership to understand market needs, and a track record of developing best-in-class materials and activations. The candidate will need to combine strategic-thinking with a high degree of creativity to execute on high-impact, high-leverage, innovative materials and programs. He/She will be dedicated to ensuring that GTW products meet the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate the development of strong relationships with our customers and sponsors.
  • Develop powerful and creative briefs that clearly align business objectives and build GTW’s brand.
  • Define marketing concepts based on business need and develop innovative ways to effectively market to our key constituents.
  • Drive creativity throughout the campaign development process and identify new ways for our messages to resonate in the marketplace.
  • Develop project plans, drive activities, and successfully execute on plan deliverables timely and within budget.
  • Collect, analyze, and summarize marketing data and trends to learn more about our end consumer and our market share to help us plan strategically.
  • Gather input and feedback from our key customers and sponsors regarding product quality, design, new ideas, and campaign.
  • This person is involved in overall market positioning, and is responsible for developing and maintaining metrics to consistently measure and monitor marketing performance.
  • Develop and coordinate public relations efforts that maintain the organization in a favorable light, and create interest in the company.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related field from an accredited college or university required. MBA strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive marketing experience; with a strong track record of execution.
  • Experience with online Advertising programs such as Google adSense, and search engines.
  • Knowledge of Google Adworks and PageRank are helpful.
  • Excellent marketing, communication, research skills, and project and team management skills are critical to success in this position, as is a demonstrated ability to work across cross-functional teams.
  • Specific experience in developing collateral, direct B2B marketing tools, advertising, promotional programs, event design/management, and press and analyst relations.
  • The role requires excellent writing skills, a passion for teens education, the strong organizational skills to balance a varied workload.
  • Knowledge of online and mobile advertising strongly preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including executive level presentation development and delivery.
  • Commitment to strategic thinking, great ideas, creativity, excellence, and execution.
  • Ability to travel within the United States and internationally required.
