Recruitment and Marketing Officer - Fostering (Service Support Manager)

County Hall, Matlock

Grade 11 £35,414 - £38,713 per annum

We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative manager for our established Fostering Recruitment and Retention team.

Our Fostering Service is at a very exciting place in terms of its development and is currently in the process of expanding the pool of foster carers. This will enable us to better fulfil our function of providing positive placements for children and young people who cannot live with their natural families.

The core tasks are to lead and manage a small team of staff whose roles and responsibilities are to undertake the initial visits and support them through their assessment process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manager recruitment campaigns to increase the number of LA foster carers.
  • Work with the Council’s communication team on social media campaigns.
  • Attend and Assist Recruitment Events.
  • Undertake Enquiries from potential fostering households where necessarily .
  • Undertake Initial Home Visits, inclusive of Health and Safety within the visit.
  • Regular communication and meetings with Fostering Assessment Manager re Initial Home Visits/H&S
  • Be the link for the fostering households throughout the assessment process in conjunction with and working closely with the Fostering Recruitment Admin.

Knowledge and demonstrable skills in recruiting foster carers, managing staff and working to the regulatory requirements of the service are key skills for the post holder.
