At EY, we are expanding our Microsoft Services and Cloud Group and specifically building our Technology Consulting practice. Due to this expansion, we are seeking to recruit high achieving Cloud Engineers to be part of our growing business.

The opportunity
We are recruiting Cloud Engineers primarily at Senior Consultant to Senior Manager levels for the Technology Consulting team. We are seeking individuals with significant client-side experience or individuals who have gained project and technology delivery experience within large recognised organisations.

Your key responsibilities


Client responsibilities

  • Help to build valued relationships with external clients and internal peers
  • Participate in presentations and proposals for medium complex projects or elements of highly complex projects
  • Create high-quality work products and act as a subject matter resource on one or more services, leveraging knowledge and experience to shape services to client problems.
  • Understand all our service offerings and actively identify opportunities to better serve clients.
  • Build strong internal relationships within Technology Consulting and across other services.


People responsibilities

  • Develop people through effectively supervising, coaching, and mentoring more junior members of staff
  • Be responsible for your own self-development, and maintain an educational program to continually develop personal skills
  • Understand and follow workplace policies and procedures


Skills and attributes for success

  • Cloud Platform Engineering experience on one of the Enterprise Cloud Platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) – subscription/account design, networking, services deployment etc
  • Teaming - Team Player
  • Curious and personable
  • Have hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code languages like Terraform, ARM, Bicep, CloudFormation, Powershell or Python.
  • Experience of deployment and configuration of DevOps pipelines, code repositories, automated testing etc
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Identity and Access Management
    • Security
    • Networking
    • Backup, DR, BCP
    • Configuration as code
    • Modern workplace
    • Monitoring, Logging and Alerting
    • Patch management
    • Cloud native development


To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Relevant experience working in a similar role/ environment
  • A passion for Cloud Engineering and/or Cloud Native Development.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
  • Have attention to detail.


Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience of working with Azure AD, Office 365, Azure Data Factory or other cloud hosted platforms.
  • Relevant industry certification.
  • Hands-on experience in working with Agile methods for software delivery e.g. Scrum, SAFE, Kanban, Lean, TDD and CI/CD.
  • Understanding of Cloud Native Platforms including Kubernetes, Open Shift, Docker Enterprise
  • Experience with Microservices, Functions, Event-driven/reactive programming or other Cloud Native architectures
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Workflow management using Agile collaboration tools from main vendors
  • Excellent presentation skills.
