Cloud Engineer

Nationwide Recruitment Service’s (NRS’s) client use a Continuous Delivery methodology that applies automation wherever possible to orchestrate and deploy software internally and externally. Due to growth, this practice of managing and transitioning software assets will benefit from new tooling for software orchestration, continuous integration, and automation. Hence recruit an innovative Cloud Engineer within this space to stay ahead of the market.
Cloud Engineer Responsibilities:
- Support and Maintain Cloud infrastructure and architecture
- Support and Maintain NRS clients AWS and Azure Cloud services
- Liaise with NRS clients technical Architects to ensure quality of service is consistently provided to NRS clients cloud systems
- Perform disaster recovery (DR) and failover testing on NRS clients cloud systems to test the build quality on service continuity
- Provided End to end (From gathering Design requirements to Go live) assistance for the projects liaising with project Managers and technical Architects filling the technical gaps between them
- Responsible for capacity planning and proposing the required resources to existing various (VMware and AWS, Azure) virtual infrastructure such as No. of CPUs, claiming back Unused drive space and RAM.
- Sharing knowledge of tools and techniques with the wider team, both developers and non-developers
- Building up a useful, robust automated test suite to support a Continuous Deployment environment.
- Work with support teams to produce documentation sets
- Manage the configuration of all Cloud systems, both internal and external to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of our systems at all times.
- Manage the tools and infrastructure within our release and deployment pipelines to provide better analytics and fast feedback on all processes.
- Automate procedures within the release and deployment pipeline, including testing and validation of releases, to enhance our validation of safe software delivery.
Cloud Engineer Requirements:
- Experience and knowledge of MS Azure, AWS and Private Clouds to build, test, and support a range of applications and series
- System administration and configuration management skills within an AWS and Azure environment
Cloud Engineer Experience and knowledge:
- VMware
- Windows Server and SQL Server
- Security standards such as ISO 27001
- Switching, routing, Cisco ASAv, VPNs, PWAN/MPLS
- Cloud migrations & Integration
- Proxy services
- Infrastructure upgrades
- An ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
- Experience working on technical projects within a team
- Unix-like operating systems such as Linux
- Cloud infrastructure and applications, experience and expertise delivering, managing and maintaining client environments.
- Automation of key release and delivery processes, such as Puppet, Chef, and Ansible
- Financial Services, building society or banking technology professionals, IT security best practice, and deep networking knowledge would be highly advantageous
Have you experience of AWS and Azure Cloud services
Have you experience of Switching, routing, Cisco ASAv, VPNs, PWAN/MPLS
Have you experience of Cloud migrations & Integration
Have you experience of Proxy services
Have you experience of Infrastructure upgrades
Have you experience of Unix-like operating systems such as Linux
Have you experience of Automation of key release and delivery processes, such as Puppet, Chef, and Ansible
