Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Trials Assistant to work in our Research Department. We have unique opportunities for a motivated person to come and join our research team on a permanent contract to support the research team at the Poole Hospital site. The post will involve working within the Paediatric and Maternity Research Team (Division 3). You may also need to help in other areas of research if needed.

Working in the research team you will join an enthusiastic, driven and caring team, to help provide research across the trust for new and existing studies.
Our team participates in research within many different specialities and areas across the Trust. Enthusiasm, self-motivation, flexibility and drive will be required to ensure the success of this post. You will be involved in all aspects of the research process from study start-up, recruitment and delivery, to close out of a study. You will need to have an excellent level of written and verbal communication skill and good IT skills.
You will work in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, implementing studies to translate scientific discoveries into improved patient outcomes.
Previous research experience is not necessary as all training and development will be provided, although clinical skills of performing venepuncture and laboratory skills would be advantageous (but not essential).
Along with the relevant and appropriate experience, you will need to demonstrate:
- An interest in clinical research
- Initiative
- Excellent communication skills to provide guidance and support to patients and colleagues
- Good time management skills with the ability to meet a deadline.
