About the Role

Reporting to the Clinical Education Manager, you will identify training needs and plan, implement, and evaluate educational activities for new starters, and existing members of staff across the company.

You will be a critical player in assuring quality educational experiences preparing the clinical workforce for the diverse, ever-changing health care environment. The clinical educator will be accountable for offering clinical support in Ophthalmology via robust training packages, giving support to existing and new colleagues.

We are looking for someone who is also able to support our clinical activity in theatres as required.

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Plan and deliver 4 week clinical inductions for our new treatment centres
  • Contribute to the planning and organisation of the continuous professional development of colleagues
  • Support the implementation and review of multidisciplinary education initiatives
  • Design and support the delivery of clinical staff training programmes
  • Maintain training records and update training matrices
  • Collaborate with Regional Operational Managers and Hospital Managers on the clinical education needs of their respective teams
  • Support new site openings of new hospitals for all clinical staff
  • Work with internal team to support the training and development programmes


To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Registered practitioner with the NMC or HCPC
  • Ophthalmic Scrub experience
  • Previous Educator or Ophthalmic Lead/Manager experience
  • Passion for high quality patient safety and care
  • A teaching, training or mentoring qualification is desirable, but not essential
  • Self motivation, with experience of managing your own diary and time
