Ophthalmology Outpatients is looking for a friendly professional forward thinking Registered Nurse to join our team. Clinics include Paediatrics, Glaucoma, Medical Retina, Oculoplastic, Corneal, Routine/Follow up Clinics, Laser, Artificial eye Clinic AMD and Eye Casualty (This list is not exhaustive )

Provide expert daily leadership and support to all levels of staff in the Ophthalmology Outpatients Clinic
Manage and co-ordinate staffing day to day and in advance, to ensure effective use of resources across the Ophthalmology Outpatients Clinic
This includes responsibility for the duty rota, devising the off duty and considering bank usage.
To participate and ensure that all staff in the area undergo an annual appraisal using the personal development review documentation (PDR).
To support staff with CPD activities and to promote teaching and training regularly in house and courses outside the trust.

Assist alongside clinical nurse manager in the appropriate management of staff performance, conduct and sickness absence is in line with Trust policy.
Be aware of department budget (pay and non-pay) ensuring effective use of resources. Have an insight into the financial balance.
Maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, students, and staff, reporting and taking appropriate action on any hazards, incidents, faulty equipment, or inadequate standards of cleaning.
Ensure all staff adheres to Trust Vision & Values.
Act up for the Ophthalmology Out-patients clinical nurse manager in the absence as required.
Advise on the level of nursing care and skill-mix for the department, and assist adjusting the work rotas where necessary to improve patient care
