Job description

The NPEU Clinical Trials Unit (NPEU CTU) are looking for an enthusiastic Trial Manager to join our team to provide project management for a randomised controlled trial on the NPEU CTU portfolio and also new potential clinical trials which demonstrate a promise of an intervention emerging from the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) collaboration. This is a great opportunity to join a friendly, supportive team with scope to contribute to wider development work of the Clinical Trials Unit.
The postholder will be based within the Nuffield Department of Population Health (NDPH) which contains world-renowned population health research groups and provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching.
The NPEU is an internationally recognised, multi-disciplinary research unit based within the NDPH at the University of Oxford, Old Road Campus in Headington, Oxford. The unit undertakes research about pregnancy, childbirth and new-born babies.
The Trial Manager will be the key central administrative contact at the Coordinating Centre maintaining effective and efficient systems to ensure the trial delivers according to milestones. Your duties will include co-ordinating the implementation and running the clinical trial across participating hospital sites in the UK, ensuring timely data collection and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) compliance.
To be considered for this role you will have a degree in a biomedical or associated subject, or other relevant qualification, or proven experience in clinical research, as well as an understanding of clinical research methodology, good clinical practice and knowledge of all UK regulations for clinical trials, GDPR and the research governance framework. Proven administrative, data and project management skills and excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your workload are also essential for this position.
There will be opportunity for some hybrid office/remote working in line with department guidance.
The position is full time (part time or job share considered) and fixed term for 2 years in the first instance. The closing date for applications is noon on 4 September 2023.
