Have you thought about working for CAMHS and have a passion for young people’s mental health? Working in a very friendly, dynamic and supportive CAMHS, we have an exciting opportunity for several qualified or soon to be qualified Psychologists to join established teams including Learning Disability CAMHS and Intensive Home Treatment team. We are happy to combine/split the posts to support your development and interests and provide opportunities in core CAMHS or for ND assessments.

This post in LD CAMHS is a Band 8a post, but we are also able to offer it as a preceptorship post for newly or soon to be qualified Psychologist (Band7/8a). There will beopportunities to develop interests and pursue further training in specific therapeutic approaches as part of the wider CAMHS offer.

Working alongside an already well established team we have a well-developed clinical supervision programme. If you’re keen to develop particular interests within child & adolescent mental health, come and talk to us about how we could support that. We are happy to consider part time hours also. Wehave well established links with the training courses and regularly have several trainees on placement.

You will be an active member of a multi-disciplinary team providing specialist psychological services to children, adolescents and families in North Derbyshire. Your role will include:

Along with the support of other Clinical Psychologistsin LD CAMHS you will:

  • Provide specialist psychological assessments, formulations and interventions for children and young people with learning disabilities.
  • Supporting consultations, supervision and training to other professionals and families and work closely with our Special Schools
  • Contributing to case discussions and a team approach to formulation.
  • Be a client centred and goal focused member of a multi-disciplinary service.

Our new building, which is close by, is located in a historic market town and on the doorstep of Sheffield, a vibrant, multi-cultural/cosmopolitan city.

Both sites are easily accessible from the M1 and the A61 and the local train station is nearby.

All our teams have excellent track records and you will have the support of colleagues from a variety of disciplines across CAMHS. We are able to support the post holder with a variety of CPD opportunities if they would also like to gain experience, training and skills in other parts of the CAMHS service e.g. developing specific therapeutic skills, ND Assessments, working within the other teams within CAMHS.

To work within the LD CAMHS across North Derbyshire:
  • Contribute to psychological assessments and interventions within LD CAMHS team.
  • To deliver relevant training programmes.
  • To be an active member of an experienced multi-disciplinary service and contribute to team and service developments.
  • To offer training, consultations and clinical advice for those working with people with learning disabilities and mental health problems.
You will work across our geographical area of North Derbyshire and the High Peak from our main base in Chesterfield; a car driver with a full current licence & own transport is therefore essential. For disabled applicants; suitable alternative arrangements may be agreed, if necessary.
