The Disabilities Trust is looking for a Clinical Psychologist who wants to share their experience by working at our service, Eastfields in Glasgow. The salary range for this post is £42,916 - £50,238 DOE Experience per annum with an introductory golden hello bonus of £6,000 which is subject to conditions.
We assess and provide rehabilitation primarily for service users with an acquired brain injury using the neuro-behavioural model of social rehabilitation. The aim is to provide a continuous link for each service user through their pathway of care from our rehabilitation services through to re-integration into the community.
You will work as part of a dynamic Multi-disciplinary Team, which includes a Consultant Neuropsychologist, Senior Clinical Psychologists and Assistant Psychologists, a Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists. Along with our Rehabilitation Support Worker team we deliver a neurobehavioural rehabilitation service for people with acquired brain injury and complex needs.

The Role
This role is based in Eastfields, a 24-bed registered Care Home for Adults from the age of 18 years and over in Glasgow which supports individuals with maintaining their rehabilitation skills and goals. Our service is spread over three 8 bedded bungalows as follows:
  • Bluebell is our 8 bedded nursing bungalow providing continued nursing care.
  • Hawthorn & Thistle has 12 studio flats and 4 bedrooms supporting individuals with non-nursing care needs.
As a Clinical Psychologist you will work as part of a multi disciplinary team to provide clinical psychology and neuropsychology input to service users with acquired brain injury. You will liaise with internal and external professionals, family members and service users.
Main Responsibilities:
  • To provide specialist psychological/neuropsychological assessment of adults with acquired brain injury referred to BIRT and related services, utilising and interpreting information from a variety of sources including psychological and neuropsychological tests, self report scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with service users, family members and others involved in the service user’s care.
  • To coordinate Service User’s care as appropriate and agreed with your supervisor, in the role of keyworker/clinical lead.
  • To formulate and implement plans of specialist psychological and/ or neuropsychological intervention to support the neurorehabilitation of adults with acquired brain injury as part of the multi/inter disciplinary team, based on current evidence-based best practice.
About you:
We're looking for someone with the following skills and qualities:
  • Degree in Psychology, accepted by BPS
  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent)
  • HCPC registered

The successful candidate will be financially supported on achieving QiCN should they wish to pursue this. There will be opportunities to be involved on research projects, some of them conducted together with the University College London or University of Glasgow.
