As the Project Officer you will be part of the Sustrans Scotland Education and Young Peoples team. You will undertake a review of existing ideas, funding programmes, resources and practices, and contribute to further development of resources and materials to support the successful delivery of Sustrans Behaviour Change programmes.

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for you to work with Sustrans, providing specialist advice and the promotion of sustainable travel in schools and community organisations for young people aged between 11 and 16. You will provide direct support to schools and local authorities delivering campaigns that support and encourage sustainable travel.
As the Project Officer you will be part of the Sustrans Scotland Education and Young Peoples team. You will undertake a review of existing ideas, funding programmes, resources and practices, and contribute to further development of resources and materials to support the successful delivery of Sustrans Behaviour Change programmes.
You will build and maintain relationships with Community Leaders, Senior Leadership Teams within schools and the Local Authority.
This role will require travel and work (including the occasional overnight stay) at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.
About you
You should have experience of working with, and motivating young people in schools or community settings, and a proven track record of working with communities/ Individuals to inspire behaviour change.
With the ability to design educational materials and resources, and the ability to lead engaging and informative sessions through clear planning of lessons and events.
We ask you to demonstrate your knowledge of working within secondary schools, structures and management priorities and the associated constraints.
