Job Title: Superintendent Pharmacist/ Pharmacy Manager

Location: Sheffield

Salary: Band 8c (£67,000 - £77,000 + bonus)

Reports to: Company Board of Directors

I have an extremely exciting opportunity. Our partner proudly serves the local NHS Foundation Trust, providing outstanding outpatient pharmacy services. As a Superintendent Pharmacist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring safe, efficient, and effective pharmacy services that meet national and local standards.

Key Responsibilities -

  • Pharmacy Services Leadership - You will provide professional leadership and strategic direction for all pharmacy services offered by our partner. Ensuring patient-focused care and adherence to best practices will be your primary goal.
  • Medicines Management - With delegated accountability for ordering and managing all medicines within the pharmacy, you will play a crucial role in maintaining optimal medication practices, adhering to GPhC standards.
  • Staff Management - Leading a skilled and flexible pharmacy staff team, you will ensure effective recruitment, development, and performance management. Your expertise will guide the team to provide excellent patient care.
  • Operational Excellence - Efficiently managing business administration and ensuring the pharmacy's profitability will be among your key responsibilities. Implementing streamlined working processes and SOPs will be essential.
  • Collaboration - Building effective working relationships with prescribers, medical staff, and various departments within the trust is vital for the successful development of high-quality outpatient pharmacy services.
  • Compliance and Governance - You will fulfil regulatory and statutory responsibilities as required by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC). As the accountable person, you will uphold the highest standards of pharmacy practice.
  • Financial Management - Taking charge of pharmacy budgets, you will ensure the delivery of services within agreed financial parameters. Developing and reviewing SLAs.
  • Quality and Safety - Upholding patient safety and compliance with standards will be at the core of your work. Conducting audits and implementing improvements will be essential for maintaining high-quality pharmacy services.

Requirements -

  • Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Proven leadership and management skills.
  • Fantastic Superintendent or Area Manager experience
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy regulations and legislation.
  • Dedication to patient safety and delivering exceptional service.
