Job description
We are seeking to recruit innovative and forward thinking Band 6 Pharmacist to join our friendly, Pharmacy Team. They must have a can do and will do attitude and be able to overcome challenges in the day to day operations of the Pharmacy setting and maintaining the high standards expected by the GPhC, the Trust and its patients.
The Trust has an Electronic Clinical Patient Record/EPMA System where vital signs are recorded direct from BP machines, electronic prescribing and electronic drug charts are in use Trust-wide and patient documentation (clinical notes, care planning) are now electronic for the entire multidisciplinary team. This has transformed our working practices .
The Pharmacy department recently underwent an exciting restructure and significant investment was made which has enabled us to further develop the pharmacy service
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated pharmacists to join our team of Rotational Pharmacists.
You will participate in a structured rotational programme gaining experience and training in:
- Ward and Clinical pharmacy
- Medicines Information
- Parenteral Nutrition
- Dispensary Services
- To contribute to the training of pre-registration pharmacists.
- To participate in the Saturday rota and emergency duty rota, the late duty and public holiday rotas.
- To update clinical and professional knowledge through organised training and private study.
- To undertake 3 monthly controlled drug stock checks on allocated wards.
- To monitor standards of storage of medicines on wards and ensure that they comply with the Trust’s Policy for the Safe and Secure Handling of Medicines.
- Any other relevant duties, as directed by the Section Head or Pharmacist in charge.
- To always follow standard operating procedures and to report to the line manager any occasions where SOPs cannot be followed.
- The post holder will be expected to promote and implement the Trust's Equal Opportunities Policy and to carry out his/her responsibilities with due regard to Health and Safety and C.O.S.H.H requirements.
