We have an exciting opportunity for a registered Pharmacist to join our busy department; If you have completed your post registration foundation training and are looking to take the next step in your career towards a specialist advanced practice role our senior rotational posts provide a perfect stepping stone.
You will be supported to complete your clinical diploma and qualify as an independent prescriber. You will gain experience in a variety of specialist roles and be mentored to build a portfolio mapped to the RPS advanced curriculum.
This position will prepare you with the knowledge and skills needed to apply for an advanced specialist role in the future.
You will be involved in the provision of high-quality patient centered care across a range of specialties including critical care, paediatrics, frailty and medical admission. You will also have the opportunity to help support the development and delivery of independent prescribing services to both the acute medicine and surgical pre-admission teams.
Leadership and management experience will be gained by mentoring our foundation pharmacists and trainees and by working alongside our lead pharmacists to facilitate team based agile working across a cluster of wards.
Applicants must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and should have successfully completed the first year of a clinical diploma or gained equivalent experience. A non-medical prescribing qualification is desirable but training would be provided if required on completion of your clinical diploma.
The post holder will be required to participate in late night and weekend working (including approximately one bank holiday a year). The role also includes the possibility of on call duties depending on the needs of the department.

The ideal candidate will have completed of be completing their post graduate clinical diploma.
This is a rotational role to provide high quality patient care across a range of specialities, including the provision and development of independent prescribing services in admissions and discharge settings.
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of specialist clinical pharmacy services to defined specialties/areas as agreed with the clinical lead.
The post holder will be expected to be or train to become an independent prescriber and contribute to the training of pharmacy students, trainee pharmacists and junior pharmacists. The post also includes delivery of training sessions to other professional staff outside the pharmacy department.
The post holder will also be expected to contribute to the ongoing operational provision of the pharmacy service, as per department rotas, to meet the needs of the service including evenings, weekends, bank holidays.
