A rare opportunity has become available for a Pharmacy Dispenser at Cwmfelin Pharmacy a traditional family-owned pharmacy in the Cwmfelinfach area just outside Newport and Cardiff (commutable from Bristol and other areas within Wales).
Cwmfelin Pharmacy is a quiet independent pharmacy - with a small close-knit team at the heart of the local village community, providing a much-needed service to the surrounding villages offering, repeat prescription service, delivery, with a wide range of over the counter medication, cosmetics and unique gift items within our local shop.
We are currently looking for a pharmacy dispenser, to work 22 hours on a part-time basis as a permanent role. Your main role will be to assist the pharmacist in the dispensing, sorting, checking and packaging of medication to our patients. The person should have the correct qualifications for being able to work in a dispensary (although training can be provided for the right person if they do not have the correct qualifications).
The pharmacy is open from 9.00am- 5.30pm - 4 days a week, half day Thursdays (as pharmacy is only open 9-1 on Thursday mornings).
Pharmacy Dispenser Roles & Responsibilities
- To assist the pharmacist in the filling of patients prescriptions
- When required by able to deliver items to patients in the village and surrounding areas
- To be able to manage the pharmacy shop counter when required make sure the shop and stock area is clean and tidy at all times
- To keep an eye on stock levels within the shop
- To hand out pre-bagged medication to the patients
Personal Skills, Qualifications & Attitude
- Pharmacy relevant qualifications (accredited dispenser)
- A friendly, sympathetic and reassuring manner with an ability to communicate with all ages
- Competent in the use of computers (pharmacy software)
- Being able to work well on your own or as part of a team
- Be able to handle confidential information
- Reliable and punctual
