Main duties of the job
We are looking for an experienced administrator to support the Gastroenterology Department, to oversee the patient pathway from referral to treatment, along with other admin duties. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved administratively in upcoming projects within the department, including the expansion of the dyspepsia service. The role involves building effective working relationships with clinical staff, regular contact with patients and a keen attention to detail.
Key roles and responsibilities to include:
- Overseeing all administration for the Royal Free dyspepsia service. This involves:
- Monitoring and updating patient pathways on LUNA patients.
- Liaising with consultants and patients to keep track of results and any next steps in their care.
- Prepping clinics by ensuring test results are completed before booking review or follow up appointments.
- Checking in and checking out of all out-patients’ appointments both face to face and virtual.
- Liaising with multiple teams to ensure all outpatient. appointments are booked or redirected to the correct service
- Managing the service’s general inbox.
- Dealing with concerns/complaints as appropriate, immediately escalating where necessary to the appropriate manager for prompt action.
