We are seeking a highly motivated enthusiastic Band 6 nurse to join our well established Urology Cancer Nursing Team, for an 18 month secondment opportunity. With support from the team, you will provide a specialist service to a case load of patients with urology cancers. Our approach is patient centred, with a focus on delivering high quality, safe patient care, achieving excellent clinical outcomes and good patient experience. We expect strong nursing values and a commitment to provide patients and families with care that is based on a culture of compassion, professionalism and respect.
This position will support you to develop further your clinical leadership skills. This will be achieved by:-
Participating in nurse led clinics- Act as patient advocate to meet cancer care standards
- Develop and utilise advanced communication skills
- Develop knowledge and understanding within this speciality
- Develop clinical decision making
- Be a key member of the multidisciplinary team
- Co-ordinate and deliver care and treatments of patients with urology cancers
This will be a rewarding but demanding position so we are looking for a highly skilled individual who has excellent communication skills, is a fast learner, is flexible and dynamic, motivated and keen to influence change and be willing to undertake further appropriate academic and in-house training. You will have a First level Degree in Nursing and ideally urology and/or cancer experience.
