We are seeking a commitment and skilled Mental Health Act/AMHP Senior Liaison Officer (SLO) to join our dedicated AMHP Hub in the centre of Southampton. This is a brand new role for the Council, so we are keen to hear from those who have worked in an AMHP or MHA Administrator role before. As the SLO, no two days will be the same, but your core role will be to provide a range of organisational, data-acquisition, resource gathering and specialist liaison support across the wider health and social care service in and around Southampton.
We are a small team of around 12 AMHPs from both social work and nursing backgrounds 80% of us work across a 24 hour rota and the remaining 20% work core office hours between 0900-1700 Monday to Friday. As our SLO, you will support us to meet the demands of our varied and competing roles within the service. You will support the AMHP duty manager on a day-to-day basis, but also lead on a range of your own project based work oversee by the AMHP management team. Please note: we do require that the successful candidate to be based in the Civic Centre, Southampton for the duration of their working day. You must be available to accept or provide legal documentation and holds keys during core office hours where we store court documentation and other sensitive data. This means there may be limited working from home opportunities for this post.
