Job description
This Clinical Fellow post provides
- ‘Out of training scheme’ medical input to the Interventional Psychiatry Service (IPS) at the Warneford Hospital in Oxford and
- Clinical teaching related to interventional psychiatry to core trainees, nurses and other
1. Providing medical support for patients receiving ketamine, related antidepressants or rTMS.
2. Participation in a joint Trust – University TRD clinic
3. Providing a one-stop shop for patients who are referred for ECT to the IPS.
4. Assisting in the development of psychotherapeutic services as adjunctive treatment to that offered by the IPS
5. Working as a sub-investigator on industry- or publicly sponsored clinical studies of new antidepressants.
6. Contributing to future development plans
7. With other members of the IPS team, the post holder will provide daytime medical cover to the ketamine and rTMS services to the level of Immediate Life Support (training provided)
8. This post does not carry on-call responsibilities. Locum weekend or evening cover for other psychiatric services is sometimes available
9. Teaching and training of core trainees and medical students: ECT, TMS, ketamine. Supporting MSc students
