Job description
The Psychological Therapies Service in NHS Forth Valley is looking for a clinical/ counselling/forensic psychologist to join the Forensic Mental Health Service. The post-holder will be expected to contribute to the management of patients in the low secure male service and the community forensic mental health team. This will involve providing highly specialised clinical and forensic assessments; interventions for mental health difficulties and offending behaviour and also sharing formulations to inform wider team management of patients. It is expected that the post holder will contribute to the training of staff working with the above client group in the context of health, social work and police agencies.
The post will be based between Trystpark low secure ward and the FCMHS at Larbert.
The Forensic Clinical Psychology Service in Forth Valley is part of the wider Psychological Therapies service and there are fantastic opportunities for continuing professional development, support from other colleagues, reflective practice and to have opportunities to contribute to service development. The department places a strong emphasis on the importance of staff well-being and this is evident in various projects and support groups within the department and wider psychological therapies service.
The Forensic Clinical Psychology Service covers the whole of Forth Valley and includes prison mental health; inpatient; community and MAPPA. We also support trainee clinical psychologists from the University of Edinburgh and there are opportunities to be involved in supervising trainees and assistant psychologists. We are a friendly and welcoming team and look forward to welcoming new members to our service.
