Our GBM Research team sits under HSBC Market & Securities Services (MSS) which provides comprehensive global, regional and domestic securities services (SSv) products.
We are currently seeking an individual to join our Research team in the role of Climate & ESG Research Analyst, this is an Associate Director level role.
A high-level overview of the role is: specifically orientated at Institutional clients and their Asset Owners & Managers (AO&M) you will be responsible for identifying, developing, writing and publishing Climate & ESG investment research reports. You will also present and convert these strategic opportunities into tangible revenue investment solutions. The role will focus mainly on European clients however you will collaborate with our Global climate and ESG teams that are based in Hong Kong, Dubai, New York and Bangalore.
The role has a hybrid working pattern allowing for home based and office-based working at HSBC offices at Canada Square, London. You must be able to work in London on a weekly basis and some international travel may be required.
In this role you will:
- Producing sectoral, thematic and European research - highlighting the investment implications of climate change, and other areas of ESG.
- Gather own information and data, analysing the investment implications of climate policy, market and scientific developments
- Prepares material for presentations to clients, industry groups and internal departments as required to create future revenue opportunities
- Takes ownership the whole life research cycle: formulate ideas, research, develop, write, publish & present
- Develop and maintain Internal stakeholder relationships with colleagues in multi-geographic regions including other ESG team members, regional economists and equity/fixed income analysts.
- Work in line with all HSBC Group Policies, regulatory requirements and HSBC Global Standards at all time.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following
- Have senior level experience with a successful career in Research with knowledge of the ESG sector
- Experience of the total research life cycle including commercial presentations & negotiations
- Understanding of commercial the drivers associated decision making rationale associated with ESG
- Have worked with enterprise level corporations ideally with some exposure to Financial Services
- High level relationship management skills of senior ‘C suite’ leaders of large corporate entities
- Empathy and emotional intelligence that engenders trust and credibility with people of different seniority levels and cultures
- Tenacity & resilience to achieve long term objectives
